The K Cut Episode 38: The Criterion Cut
Ah, yes. Criterion. It’s the golden word for many cinephiles, no matter what your preferences are: Hollywood classics, arthouse experiments, short films, independent gems, and international discoveries. The Criterion Collection have preserved and innovated the motion picture industry for decades, from their LaserDisc releases to their collectibles now. So, it was only a matter of time that The K Cut got around to discussing this amazing company and all that they do. We provide our dream future Criterion releases (films that were never in the collection), and current out-of-print works that we do hope will return one day. Listen in to a new episode of The K Cut now!
Bonus: Here is an alternative logo for this week’s episode, but, for obvious reasons, we must point out that this is based on the Citizen Kane cover created by artist Mike McQuade, and it’s a tongue-in-cheek take on the polarizing response the design got; there was a big “K”, we had to do this!
Three cinephiles of different background and tastes are all edited together on The K Cut. Weekly topics, debates, lessons, and fake film pitches. You can’t geek out more about cinema than this.
