96th Academy Awards: Our Final Predictions
Written by Andreas Babiolakis
All season long, I’ve been ranking every nominee of the 96th Academy Awards (you can find each category below) and making predictions along the way. You’ll notice that some haven’t budged, but some predictions are completely different today than they were weeks ago. That’s because the award season is always shifting, and each additional win or snub adds to the bigger picture of who will take home the Oscar this upcoming Sunday. For instance, Lily Gladstone seemed to be going home empty-handed for Killers of the Flower Moon, until she won that much-needed SAG award (one that is voted upon by acting peers, just like, you guessed it, Best Actress at the Academy Awards). Most of these categories feel like locks, but I have taken some gambles, admittedly (mostly in the shorts categories which always feel like crapshoots). Nonetheless, there’s no use in delaying my predictions, however right or dreadfully wrong they may be. You’ll find all of my final predictions below. This was a fun Oscar season, but I’m glad we’re finally getting to the ceremony.
If you want to revisit any of the categories and their rankings, you can find them all here.
