Ranking the 95th Academy Award Nominated Films
Written by Andreas Babiolakis
It’s that time of year again. I’ve gone through each and every single Academy Award nominated film and reviewed them. Furthermore, I have ranked each and every single category’s five (or ten) nominees from worst to best. Now, I must fulfil the final list: the ranking of every single film nominated at the 95th Academy Awards.
Two things to note:
1) Not every review attached here is written by me; quite a few of these reviews are from Films Fatale’s Cameron Geiser, so if I ranked a film he loved very low or a film he gave a so-so rating highly, this is why.
2) What always happens is that I slightly waver with how I feel about a film after consideration and time. If a film is ranked higher than my initial rating would indicate or vice versa, it’s because I may feel a little different about a particular film months later. Additionally, I wouldn’t typically have a drastic change in opinion over a film. For instance, if I gave a film a 4 out of 5 before, I can’t imagine it shifting past a 3.5 or 4.5. There are also some films I may have been a bit too harsh on that I’ve softened to in hindsight, or films that I wasn’t mean enough to (spoiler alert: the latter is Blonde. It’s only Blonde.)
Without further ado, let’s get ranking. Here is every film nominated at the 95th Academy Awards ranked from worst to best.
